Catherine Ybarra, a native of the Bay Area, graduated from UCLA in 1992 with a BA in environmental science. She was a member of the LA based modern dance company Winifred R. Hams' Between Lines from 1991-1995. Since moving back to the Bay Area she has worked with local choreographer Stephen Pelton and Arturo Fernandez and is currently a member of Robert Moses' Kin.
Michele Nichols was born in San Luis Obispo, California. Classically trained in ballet from the age of 10, Michele left the country to dance with the Deutsche Oper Berlin West. In 1991 she danced with the SF Opera, returning to Europe in 1992 where she was based in Sweden, dancing with the Malmo Ballet Company, Ostgota Ballet Company, and as a freelance dancer in Stockholm. Michele is presently visiting the Bay Area working with the Kate Foley Company and Arturo Fernandez.
Tristan Ching is happy to be dancing in San Francisco after graduating from Stanford University in 1996. Since moving to the Bay Area, she has worked with San Francisco choreographer Enrico Labayen and recently toured with New York-based Chen and Dancers for the world premiere of Transparent Hinges. Tristan currently studies with Alonzo King, Arturo Fernandez and Carmen Rozenstraten and has been a member of Robert Moses' Kin since 1995.
Nikki Tairi was born in New Zealand where she trained in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap until she was 18. At that time she moved to NY where she performed and trained with the Joffrey Ballet. Nikki has also performed with Eugene Ballet in Oregon and toured with the Broadway Production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.
Augusto Ferriols was born in Manila, and graduated with a BA in Fine Arts from the University of California at Berkeley in 1993. He is a visual and performance artist, and received his classical training with the Richmond CA Ballet under Harold Garton. He studied dance with David Wood, and has danced with Troupe Movement, Inc., June Watanabe In Company, and the LAB Projekt, USA. Currently he studies dance with Alonzo King and Arturo Fernandez. He is a founding member of the Augustino Dance Theater, and is Secretary to Board of the ARTSHIP Foundation in Oakland.
