Since August
1996, the AVT has presented hundreds of top flight variety artists in
a format that evokes the Populism, the Patriotism, the Sophistication
and the Surrealism of Old Time Vaudeville. With Trav S.D., the
Strongest Comic Relief Available Without a Prescription, as Master of
Ceremonies, the AVT has presented dozens and dozens of completely different
variety shows at such venerable downtown New York venues as Surf
Reality, The Present Company Theatorium, Baby Jupiter,
Todo Con Nada, the Duplex and Rose's Turn. |
| The New York Times called the American Vaudeville Theatre The best entertainment deal in town. Time Out New York said its Variety at its finest Excellent for those suffering from attention deficit disorder. Backstage called it marvelously marginal and uncannily contemporary. Among the hundreds of acts which the AVT has presented in the last five years are: |
