TOTALLY IN LOVE

Totally in Love is like a flip card sifting through memories.  In a video from a decade ago, Bernard’s face appears imprisoned in a TV, while her children plant kisses on her face. Against a larger than life projection of her face in the present, Bernard executes a series of familiar gestures, while allowing feelings of love and loss to wash through her.  Jennifer Dunning, The New York Times said of Bernard, “spellbinding performer with unusual themes.”   Sound score is sampled vintage music and sounds of her children by Canadian composer, Owen Chapman and New York composer, Brooks Williams.  The videography is in collaboration with Valerie Green, Norm Scott and Jody Sperling.  “Totally in Love” is the third project directed by Maureen Brennan and developed through The Field’s Artward Bound Residency Program at Earthdance and Fieldwork.
